it’s a beautiful tidal sandbank just off Stone Town. “Nakupenda” means “I love you” in Swahili.
What to do, swim, snorkel, relax on the white sand, take photos, and often have a seafood BBQ lunch.
Getting there, boats from Stone Town typically take about 20–30 minutes. Important: it’s a tidal sandbank, so it appears during low tide and becomes submerged as the tide rises. Your tour time should therefore be planned around the tides.
